Originally trained in AI, he chose technopreneurship to understand the full journey, from ideas and technology to execution, people, and sustainable value creation. 

His early career was shaped in a growing SME within the marine engineering sector, where he worked at the intersection of clients, technical teams, decision-makers, and external vendors. Afifi was deeply involved in understanding technical requirements and operational pain points, translating them into workable solutions, and supporting proposal development for tenders. His role naturally expanded across project coordination, business development support, manpower sourcing, vendor management, administrative operations, and HR-related responsibilities, placing him at the centre of both execution and people management. 

He later broadened his perspective through people-facing roles in retail brokerage and education marketing, followed by an operations-heavy role in a Japanese multinational manufacturing environment, where he managed multiple administrative and coordination functions simultaneously. Across these experiences, one pattern became clear to him: while systems, tools, and processes matter, it is people who ultimately determine whether organisations grow or stagnate. 

At ChangeLeader, Afifi has chosen to focus his energy on training, upskilling, and organisational development. In his role as Outreach Executive, he serves as a first point of engagement for companies and universities, building trust, framing meaningful conversations, and bridging stakeholders with ChangeLeader’s human-centred, data-driven approach. He is driven by a firm belief that in any organisation, the only resource whose value consistently appreciates over time is its people, and that investing in human capability is the most sustainable strategy for long-term impact.
